Got em.. Just that practical HV switchers are a very much cut and try sort of thing. Getting the basic circuit topology and design is only the start. It's the dynamic effects that cause all the problems. Probably a good place to start would be designs for dimmable electronic fluorescent light ballasts or for short arc xenon lamps. High power, negative resistance loads, etc.
