I recently came across a mess of teflon coated vacuum gear, including 3 pneumatic poppet valves and a mess of KF40 and KF25 fitings. These were obviously meant for corrosive service of some sort (probably involving some sort of nastiness like boron trichloride or chlorosilane), but are in very clean shape. Can anybody comment on the effect of the teflon coating for high vacuum service?
