Bussard, Whiffle ball, WB-1 to WB-6 images discussion

Post by Richard Hull »

One of the last Doc' Bussard talks with images of his work at San Diego. Incredible details for a starved observer hungry for data and real results. Rare, never seen images and photos. Bussard at his best. He is trying to restart the effort talking before investor types. 2006 was the end of it all.

Got an hour to absorb stuff at a technical level?

I remember following that back in the day. Nothing went past the WB-6 prototype as I recall.

Double check the link spelling. I get "This Account has been Suspended" with an email link to webmeaster@aresinstitute.org
The more reactive the materials, the more spectacular the failures.
The testing isn't over until the prototype is destroyed.

I tapped on the link I gave and it went straight to the video. You might try the root address and once there go to the videos.

Thanks, enjoyed all three videos but I could not find the conference paper Bussard mentioned in the first video. Instead, I found a 2018 paper with simulations etc. Plus, I found notes for a 2013 IEC conference presentation.

I loved the way on successive WB# failures, Bussard would say "well we hadn't figured on that, but of course we should have, it was obvious." This was like saying we did the experiment, it failed, but we learned something that should have been obvious to us. Great catch! I gotta' use that next time I screwup! LOL.
