New Banner
.
Y'all will see I changed the banner atop these pages this morning.
I thought to do this after working with an artist in Bangladesh (via Fiverr.com) who created the covers for The Man Who Invented Gravity and the recent reissue of The Boy Who Invented Television. She colorized the Philo/Fusor image on the right, and the colorized image of Philo with the 1929 receiver is something I found in the Internet. I decided to update the fusor.net banner with those images.
While I was at it, I asked her to modify Brian McDermott's 'pretty star' image so that the grid line does not obscure the star portion. Thanks again to Brian for permission to use the image here.
I know the dark background doesn't blend perfectly with the blue outlines/highlights of this default phpBBS theme, but I'm not going to mess with it. We'll get use to it.

Re: New Banner
The new banner does not show for me initially. I have to click on the old banner to see the new one.

Re: New Banner
That’s a cache/history issue. Try clearing browser history. Not that it matters a whole lot.

Wow! Nice and flashy. Good work on the part of the artist.

Re: New Banner
For me, the new banner shows on the main fusor.net "home page", but not atop the forums.
The more reactive the materials, the more spectacular the failures.

Re: New Banner
Again, it’s a question of what you have hidden in browser cache. It didn’t show up for me at first, either

Nice work.
Cleared up all cookies and the banners both showed up OK.
Should the belljar be as bright as it is thought?

I found it only necessary to clear the cache. One does not need to clear cookies.

Re: New Banner
Paul - I think the new banner looks great! I really like the muted coloration of Farnsworth working the television on the left. Plus the overall color scheme works really nicely together.
The new banner finally showed up for me tonight.
So I guess it takes a few days for stuff in the cache to actually get updated.
Joe.

Re: New Banner
It looks great, certainly more striking than the previous one.
I use dark mode on my browsers and the new image looks much more in place!
