Hello Fusor.net, my name is Alec.
I'm an electrician trainee in California with a background in Mechatronics. I have almost no formal education in physics, other than what I have learned about electrical theory.
I have job experience in production as an assembly shop manager, which has given me some experience working with steel (specifically milling and cold saw operation; very limited experience working on a lathe.)
Currently, in California, there is an energy crisis. This has spurred my interest in nuclear reactors, and I have been studying nuclear reactor design in my free time for the past two years.
I am excited to learn all that I can from you all.
Greetings from the Golden State (California)

Welcome Alec. Read the FAQ's on the various subjects. Fusors are interesting but not now, nor ever will provide useful power. Yet they are a fascinating demonstration of how our Sun powers itself (via quantum mechanical tunneling.)
