Images of past HEAS conferences (Tesla Universe)

Post by Richard Hull » Sat Mar 21, 2020 7:22 am

As many of the images of past HEAS events were lost from image du jour in the move last year, I attach a great source of them to be found on the Tesla Universe. These images were taken mostly by the site's director, Cameron Prince when he attended through 2012. Those who have not been can get the flavor of what remains here by looking back in images du jour for the October postings of the event each year in the past here or go to the site below and click on the yearly events and cycle through images there.

I attach an image of Bill Connery of Pennsylvania (left) talking with Alex Tajnsek (right) a long time member of the local HEAS group here in Richmond. The image was taken at the 2012 HEAS event. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2019. Bill attended virtually all 28 Telsathons and HEAS events from 1989 to 2018. He was a highly regarded figure and fixture at many events and hamfests all over the east coast. He was an expert maker of vacuum display tubes and sold hundreds over the years at the Teslathons and HEAS events. He could speak authoritatively on most any subject within the engineering venue. He is missed far beyond my ability to express in mere words by all who knew and respected him. He was a "go to" guy on many subjects.

The second other image is of Phillip, one of Cameron's friends at our local Richmond electrical junk yard the day before HEAS 2009!
