UK's nuclear fusion site ends... after 40 years

This forum is for other possible methods for fusion such as Sonolumenescense, Cold Fusion, CANR/LENR or accelerator fusion. It should contain all theory, discussions and even construction and URLs related to "other than fusor, fusion".

UK's nuclear fusion site ends... after 40 years

So sad:

Even sadder, the article doesn't dare mention how much was spent on this DOA monolith over those 40 years

Oh my! Jet just made a big announcement last year that they achieved 75% to breakeven. Fabulous,...Not! Sabine Hossenfelder gave it the lie and did the math and that was Q plasma. Q total was more like 20%. When will they ever learn. Tokamaks are dead many times over.

JET will jet off into the fabled history of abject failure in controlled fusion. We learned a lot and learned nothing from JET. We mostly learned that billions can be spent on big fusion over many years to remain stuck in the mud where fusion energy is concerned.

Fusion is the energy of the future....and it always will be
The more complex the idea put forward by the poor amateur, the more likely it will never see embodiment
