Idiocy in action! Fusion power in this decade!

Post by Richard Hull »

An absolute must watch fusion bit here!

Another absolutely impossible putt-putt boat fusion scenario for all to laugh at. No one begins to discuss rep rates! Repetition rates are forever the key to getting energy out of such putt-putt boat fusion systems and onto the grid. What does it mean if they reach a true net Q of 10 from a giant single blast lasting 100 nanoseconds?! How are you going to do this a million time a second?

A million deliveries of 100 nanosecond energy pulses per second with a real net Q of 10 will deliver a net continuous effective Q of 1, (unity)! No loss, no gain. Breakeven at zero net power delivery.

Can they reach a one MHz rep rate? The answer will forever be, no.

Watch idiocy in action in application of the impossible at extreme cost and expense. No wind across the decks here! These are doers whose mission to achieve fusion power systems in this decade! Forgive them for they know not what they do.

Cycle times of up to 1 picohertz are clearly within easy reach - we just need more money on a bigger gun.

First Light fusion have to be one of the most ridiculous schemes. Clear to anybody with half a brain that this won't work as they claim.

I would disagree about people not knowing what they are doing. They are very very good at tricking gullible investors into handing over money for something they know wont work. Watch one of the investor webinars they did, it looks like a deliberate scam to me, rather than a misguided group of inventors.

Let's hope the investment bubble doesn't burst before a more legitimate company or lab cracks the problem.

Investment bubbles burst when the good times no longer roll and solid fast return investments lose money in huge amounts.
One major burp in the economy or recession will slow such good happy feeling investments in the future.
Still, the art of singing sweet songs about our fusion future are still "fly paper" to the well off gullible do-gooders.

Most all the startups only crack smiles as the money rolls in with no chance of cracking fusion.

Jeezuz. Are they serious?

I watched about 5 minutes. That was enough to convince me that the Chief Designer on this approach was Rube Goldberg.
