Big announcement from NIF claiming scientific breakeven...

NIF is claiming scientific breakeven. Breakthrough or scam? I think it's possibly quite important, but I'd like to hear more about their instrumentation (how did they calculate energy out, specifically? devil's in the details...). That most coverage talks about green energy from fusion is a red flag, as veteran members here know. What do y'all think?

There is absolutely no such scientific term called "Scientific Breakeven". They created that term so they can act as if they've performed a requirement that congressed required for spending over a billion and half dollars on the wrong laser and drive design system. Their real "Q", as I posted in the thread on fusion, is about 0.005.
