Harry Oder - Introduction

Post by Harry Oder »

Hello,
I am a happily retired guy that finds himself busier now that when I went to work all day. So many interesting projects and ideas to peruse. Lifelong interest and occupation in electronics. Enjoy design and construction of electronic and mechanical devices. Hope to learn about fusors from the perspective of someone who knows almost nothing about them. Thanks for the opportunity!

Hello and some here are retired or retiring; fusors are fascinating and creating as well as detecting neutrons (or secondary gamma from activation via neutrons) is what this forum is about. Obtaining required equipment (and building some or most) is what makes these fusion devices even more interesting.

Read the FAQ's sections on specific topics or search the given section in the forum to see what and how many of the required skills/equipment that are necessary for a given aspect of fusors has ben done previously. While neutron generation is safe, x-rays, and high voltage can be lethal so caution is critical when undertaking building real fusors. A demo fusor and joining the 'Plasma Club' is how many get their start here and can be done safely. Following that path also builds required skills.
