Selling my projects. Warning, this is the garage the wife warned you about.
Live near central florida? Ever want to come for a visit? Well do I have a deal for you! Stop on by, and take some of my stuff off of my hands.
Most of the stuff is way too heavy to ship so local pickup is best, unless you want to buy the lot and freight it.
3x old school X-Ray transformers $250 each your pick
220v 132A pri - 125KV 300ma sec
220v 160A pri - 110kv 400ma sec
240v 124A pri - ?? sec
2x 50 Amp 120v Powerstat Variable autotransformers
1x $150 with damaged handle
1x $200 with nice handle
buy both for $300 with included shaft coupler for 240v fun
My vacuum setup. was going to be a fusor someday , I played a bit with some residual gas analysis. Great for helium leak testing, or seeing if you have water contamination in your chamber, I was hoping to maybe someday even see deuterium turn to helium in real time. I feel RGA is under explored part in the hobby. This is an opportunity to buy a complete setup for $2500
residual gas analyzer- MKS HPQ-2 working with software and computer
Turbo drag pump Pfeiffer TMU-071p with controller
round chamber
Welch 1402 backing pump
manual 4.5" conflat gate valve
conflat 4'5" viewport
conflat 2.75" HV feedthrough
couple of Micro-ion plus gauges
I prefer to part with the whole setup if I can, if there is no interest after a while we will talk about parting out.
18" by 30" bell jar from a sputtering machine $300
Welch 1376- outside looks a bit rough, swapped the oil, and hooked it up, it sucks a good hickey on my hand that's all the testing I have done on it
$100
Helium leak tester thing...
It has a 400 watt oil diffusion pump in it(220v with 120v transformer) , along with a vacuum pump, and what looks to be a cold trap, "calibrated leaks", along with some other goodies in a cool portable unit. $200 OBO

Hello,
Im definitely going to want to put my name on one of those Xfrms! The 110kv at 400 ma looks nice. All this assuming in operable condition I would guess? I will send a pm as well, probably arrange for freight pick up but may drive for it myself…

Hey Aidan I got your PM. Attached are some more photos of the 400MA transformer. I have never fired any of this batch up, but I have opened the transformer of unknown secondary specs, and ohmed it out a while back. I will post the photos of that transformer in a second post. I will also ohm this one out as well later today to confirm its health.Aidan_Roy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 9:47 am Hello,

All of the transformers came to me via surplus, a local company was swapping dozens of machines out of operation a couple of years back. A couple of others and I saved as many as we could afford from the scrap yard. I had HV/ tesla/ fusor plans for them, but the wife and I are thinking of a move in the future, and need to downsize.

This is the 3rd x-ray transformer with the unknown secondary voltage
I had opened it up a while back to get some readings on the secondary. The transformer itself has never been out of oil.
each side of the secondary tested about 2.7K ohms from center tap (2.735, 2.760)
primary tested 2.6 ohms

LOL!! Good eye. not much for corals in that tank, but I do have corals, the fish room will most likely be phase 2 of downsizing. Wonder how many other Reef/Fusor nerds exist... Maybe I should do a free frag deal with every 100lbs of transformer sold, Buy my UHV setup get an OG Bounce.

Funnily enough I am also an aquarist! I run freshwater but what a coincidence!! That looks like a nice tank, definitely some healthy corals. I think we just found a new niche of people hahaha. Who said water and electricity dont mix?!

Large tank of water = moderator. I say we try to activate some corals.

Finally had a chance to open up the 400ma x-ray transformer.
This one is wired slightly differently. It has 2 transformer sides I will refer to them as yellow side and green side(the wire colors of each secondary).
primaries of both sides were wired in parallel to the "P" and "PC" terminals of the case. I separated them for ohm testing.
Green primary 0.24 ohms
Yellow primary 0.24 ohms
Green secondary 7.101 K ohms
Yellow Secondary 7.140 k ohms

Hi Thomas,
Looks pretty good. I found the manual for the controller and transformer combo, with the transformer only being a small focus however the link for it is here:
https://dokumen.tips/documents/bennet-c ... ml?page=85
The schematic makes it seem like its 2 separate transformers, one for each polarity, both with center-tapped secondary windings. Your pics look like 1 core however, so thats interesting. All in all sounds great, how long was it out of the oil though on the fork truck? Also weight I have is 300 lbs, is that what you have or do you know? Would be best to hammer out fine details over email or in the pms as to not clutter the board. Looking forward to getting into the nitty gritty! Exciting indeed.
