Continuing on bulletin board, though we have each others' email addresses.
Rex & Samuel, I'd rather not meet on 1/26 if intrepid leader Ian can't attend.
Maybe midweek, Jan 29-30-31, when Joe's in town. I bet Samuel has school those days. Joe PM !
Following Saturdays I could mostly keep clear, if we plan early.
February 2, 16, 23 (not 9)
March 2, 9 (flea market opening day).
Thursday, March 14, is Santa Clara Valley regional science & engineering fair day. They can always use more volunteer judges, serving for the better part of one workday.
Archaeological excavation of my garage and shed have begun, but today 2 guests at the same time would be crowded.

I agree, I would like for Ian to make it.
I do have school during the week so that would not be very practical for me. As for February 2, 16, 23 and March 2, 9, those days would work well for me, with the possible exception of February 16th.
Thanks to everyone for being flexible with the scheduling.

Joe says he'll be in our area Jan 29 (tues) thru 31 (thurs). I'd like to have us meet some evening (or?) in there. Anyone else game? Where are you staying, Joe? Let us know and we can look for a central place.
Joe, that's a short window. Any thoughts from you on ideas for meeting up?
Hope some can do this. Rest of us, I think, will be around for a while. If you can't make it next week we should be able to do another later meet-up for more of us in SF Bay area.

Wednesday evening works best for my schedule. I'll be staying near the santa clara convention center.

Maybe some of us can make Wed 1/30 at 5 or 6 PM at Pedro's.
Could just meet in the bar with option for dinner if desired.
Any other takers for meeting from the South Bay area? I'm ok with other ideas if Pedro's doesn't sound good.
Pedro's - Mexican restaurant
3935 Freedom Cir
Santa Clara, CA 95054
Colorful Mexican eatery with multiple patios featuring a full bar serving a variety of margaritas.
(408) 496-6777
Open until 10:00 PM

Wow, I haven't been to Pedros since my workplace was on Freedom Circle in the early or mid 1980's! (Loma Prieta earthquake happened 3 buildings later.) That 6 pm works for me, and I hope for Ian and Samuel. No robbers or stalkers allowed on this forum.
The meeting-up energy barrier sometimes has a negative sign, as exemplified earlier tonight:
Enjoyed a great talk by Alex Filippenko at Foothill College. Knew 2 old astronomy friends were also planning to attend, but we had no plans to get together, at 1000 seat auditorium with open seating. Arriving at last minute, ran into friend 1 & spouse as we were handed programs. Found three empty seats. After the lecture was under way, I spotted friend 2 & spouse in next row directly in front of us!

I'm afraid I won't be coming, because I'm in New Hampshire.

I will most likely not be able to make it on wednesday as I have robotics after school. I hope everyone has a good time and maybe we can plan another meetup later for the people who can't make it.
