Hi Andrew,
Looks like a good paper. I read the "background" portion (i and ii) and I think it's concise, straightforward, and probably of utility to folks here as a crash course in plasma waves. A notation glossary would be a useful addition (maybe not to your prof, but for public consumption).

Thanks for posting your paper. That's a substantial piece of work, and I haven't gotten too far into it, as yet.
One of the challenges with the mathematical representation of something as complex as a plasma, with high speed particles of different masses, and so on... is what are the appropriate boundary conditions, and how does one apply them?
Despite these difficulties, the generalized theory presents an overview that enables one to get his head around the basic behavior and what governs it.
