Vacuum Pump?

I found this pump as I was looking though some old army surplus. It is labeled "pump" with .75 horsepower connection type flange. I assume that it is a vacuum pump because of the SS flange and the intake seams to be similar to a standard vacuum pump. I don't know what type this is, and was wondering if anyone could help. There was quite a few of this kind lying around, but none had any cords to attach to any sort of power outlet,as they seem all to have been detached. I decided that if I decided I needed it I could leave it there and come back and buy it later. Sorry about the quality of the picture, as I have lost the original and am using the copy.

I would say so as well, and I'd guess at it being a water pump given the flange size and material, possibly for either sucking or more likely squirting, given the power. What could you see looking into the ports?

I think it's a centrifugal pump, too - the giveaway is one flange that looks like it's pointed at the center of the impeller, and the other on the periphery. The flange connections are also too large in comparison to the size of the impeller for it to be a credible vacuum pump.

Its a stainless steel water circulation pump. Spendy pump if you need it.
