Question about radiation shielding of reactors
I hear that radiation sickness is quite Deadly in certain cases, so in the hope of preventing this
What has been the prefered method? How did you test it's effectiveness?
Thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge.

If you post up the neutron measurements you mentioned in your introduction, I will try to, or I'm sure someone will, direct you to the appropriate thread in this forum that will contain the right info for you, according to the reproducibility and measurability of what your data shows.

It'll be a long way to go before the fusor becomes a radiation problem.
The only real danger that I see is the electrical shock hazard, or maybe accidentally
touching the shell while it's still hot.

Re: Question about radiation shielding of reactors
Nobody in this hobby legitimately faces the issue of acute radiation sickness. It's a non-issue. If you are under the impression this is an issue for what you're involved with, there's a 99.9+% chance you're just misinformed, and a very small chance you need to hire a qualified RSO and establish a state-licensed radiation safety program with various engineered and administrative controls.
As far as real-world radiation protection goes, the chief safety concern from homebrew fusion apparatus has historically been x-rays. We have what is called a "Neutron and Radiation Detection" forum where this problem and its mitigation have been discussed regularly and in much detail over the past ten years. I know it is hard to find this information, read it, and comprehend it, but that's my suggestion for getting started.

John, I don't think you are really taking the issue of radiation detection seriously. How do you expect anyone to follow that diagram without a part number for the bat?
Re: Question about radiation shielding of reactors
That power supply at the top is unreal.
Can I use superglue instead of hot glue?
Steve.

I'm a long-haul comm technician and we use this diagram as a joke to new guys.
