Apparently, using aligned spin between tritium and deuterium reduces the required amount of tritium by 20%. This does not make fusion power more likely but does relax the amount of tritium needed. Nice minor discovery that in no way changes the basic problem: magnetic confinement of a plasma to create energy from fusion is just far too expensive to ever make the process economical.
