Well, good Dr. Hossenfelder helped with a paper that appears to undermine MOND (modified gravity.) While dark matter is still just an ad hoc concept, MOND has data issues that certainly undermines its applicable application to galaxy rotation in general. And the binary data that I thought overthrew dark matter has an identical issue. While this whole mess is still a massive hole in physics in the most fundamental way possible, a solution is still totally up in the air (or in the deep sky ... ).
