Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
I have been experimenting with dipping the tungsten rods like making candles.
But for now, I am going to use the tig nozzles to make my cathodes.

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
Next is actually making the cathodes, I will not bore you with the details.f you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Bye the way, I do not fire the poceline.
If the current is high enough, it will fire itself.

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
While this next batch dries, I need to make a rectifier for my neon sign transformer.

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
Before making my coltage multiplyer, I want to run the fusor on 15kv.
Using four - 30kv H5030f diodes in paralell will hopefully handle the current.
We will see.

Testing out the rectifier.
15kv dc and holding....
"Nice negative glow region on the left electrode, positive column to the right."

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
Lightly sand to shape the porcine and expose the tip of the tungsten rod.
At this point, more porcine can be added to rework the tip.

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
Wrap the bare wire of the high voltage wire around the end of the tungsten rod.
From now on, rubber splicing tape will be used to make all the connections.

Re: Rebuilding my fusor.
Splice the leads from the chamber to the cathode leads.
Finally, black out anything shiney that might reflect off the glass or camera lenses.
The gap between cathodes and anode is 2.5".
