Vacuum Chamber Delivered (With Pictures)

Post by gamempire » Tue Jul 22, 2008 4:16 am

Hi All,

I just wanted to post some pictures of the vacuum chamber that was just delivered to me at the engineering school here at GW. It was built by Nor-Cal, a vacuum supply company out in California, for a very nice academic price.

Anyhow, the chamber has eight 2.75" CF ports, three 4.5" CF ports, with one of the 4.5" ports being extended from the bottom of the chamber about 6 inches to give clearance between the vacuum pump and the lower 2.75" ports. It also has one large 13.25" CF so it can be split into hemispheres.

Pictures are as follows. I apologize for the low resolution of the pictures, as the only camera I had when I drove down to DC was my phone. Please feel free to give me your thoughts on the chamber as well

It is truly a thing of beauty. I am envious.

If you guys ever decide to scrap that let me know.

Josh,

Nice, may we ask what the academic price was?

Hi Steve,

I'll shoot you an email later today regarding the info (retail vs. paid price, etc). Sadly though it was a one time thing I believe
