Annual Fundraiser: Let's Try This Again

Post by Paul_Schatzkin » Wed Jan 22, 2020 3:34 pm

Here is what I posted yesterday in a different thread. The link that accompanied that post proved problematic, so I am going to delete that thread and replace it with this post and a new link:

- - - - - -

Yes kids, it's that time again: time to raise a few shekels to keep this thing going.

I have been bearing most of the cost of hosting Fusor.net or the past 20 years or so, but in the past two years that has become somewhat more problematic due to changes in my own circumstances and the inflated costs of hosting and migrating.

Last year, for example, we started incurring onerous charges from our host at the time, Media Temple, for bot-generated bandwidth overuse that we could not account for or rectify. That mandated a migration from Media Temple to GoDaddy, and you all know how that went.

Ka-ching, ka-ching.

Point is, all this got pretty costly, and as I did at this time last year, I'm running the flag up the pole for whatever financial assistance you all care to contribute. Last year we raised about $1,200 this way, and that made a big difference.

I have restored the "donate" button to the Fusor.net home page, but if you're so inclined, just click on this link and pitch in whatever you can:

https://fusor.net/donate.html

(that's a new link and a new "donate" button/code. If that doesn't work.... 😡)

Thanks,

Paul
Donation appears gone to Tanglewook Ventures.
Is it OK?

Yeah, that’s my “shell company” on Paypal. Should also say Fusor.net

Still can't get it to work. I hit the donate button and it takes me to a screen saying "securely logging you in.." with a spinning circle. The spinning circle never stops spinning.

However they're getting there, several contributions came in this morning.

Thanks to all.
