How to neglect the disturbance in Electric Potential?

Post by thanapong »

I want to study the shape of electric potential that can confine the charged particle by using COMSOL with 2 studies. First, study the electric potential shape and second is to study the particle trajectories in it. I want to know what assumption to neglect the disturbance of charged particles to electric potential(like charged particles trajectory don't affect electric potential)?

Is this true "if the number density of charged species is less than around 10^13 /m^3, the effect of the particles on the fields can be neglected"? ref.https://www.comsol.com/forum/thread/281 ... r-the-same
