Ballasting an Edwards E2M1.5 Interstage pump

Post by Jordan Simpson »

I recently acquired a used Edwards E2M1.5 Interstage pump that I still have yet to flush out and test. Due to it being the interstage version of the regular Edwards E2M1.5, it has a second inlet nozzle labeled "interstage inlet" where the gas ballast cap would normally be on a regular Edwards E2M1.5. I was wondering if it would be possible to ballast this pump even with the apparent lack of a gas ballast cap/valve. I have already tried searching for an answer, but was unable to find one.

Below I have attached a photo of the back of the pump as viewed from above, showing the fittings on top.
