Deuterium Gas Availability

Post by Tejas_Sharma » Fri Oct 16, 2020 10:29 am

Since, I am having a difficulty in finding a supplier for Deuterium gas in my region, I wanted to know whether there is a safe way to extract deuerium from Deuterium Lamps or Deuterium depleted water. I am currently researching for creating my own fusor, so had to submit a cost estimate to my team. I can't finish as I have no clue for deuterium. In the States, its pretty cheap, so I assumed it would be relevant in India, where I'm from, as well.

Using electrolysis some people here convert heavy water into deuterium gas. This is the best alternative when deuterium gas cylinders are not available. You can read in various posts how this was done. This very same question has also been answered here - viewtopic.php?f=46&p=89295#p89295

Tejas
We buy our Deuterium at work from India
We have less hassle than buying from American suppliers

ps there is very little deuterium in a deuterium lamp enough maybe for a second or two of operation
