For those looking for good info on GM tubes should you roll your own GM systems or those looking for info on finished full GM counters offered, the above sites are great.

The first site is 100% cool and OK with lots of associated URLs to check out.
The second site is a very good source for general data and info on well studied GM counters for sale. I find the author a bit namby-pamby and super fraidie-cat bordering on the unreasonable on radiation at the level he might experience in day-to-day life. He notes he keeps his little test piece of U ore in a lead pig within another led pig in his outside shed! Regarding Thorium mantles he notes they are dangerous and have a 75,000 year half-life....Wrongo, pal o' mine! Try 14 billion years and even then half of the mantle's radiation is still there!!
