Plasma Spectroscopy

Post by Nicolas Krause »

Sam Zeloof is a pretty clever kid undertaking some home IC fabrication in his parents garage. Of interest to the fusor community is his demonstration of a spectroscopy setup for plasma at 5:40 in the following video. He's using a fibre optic spectroscope by Aseq instruments. While the devices aren't free, at $750 they're certainly purchasable by the amateur should they choose to commit the funds. Its a bit rich for my taste, and I plan on making my own device, but this is a really nice simple setup that allows for analysis of the spectra of the plasma!
