Through the Gamma Spectroscopy usenet group, I received the following:

Found a copy of R.L.Heath: Scintillation Spectrometry on the net .

http://www.inl.gov/gammaray/catalogs/pdf/naicat.pdf ;

539 pages of very useful gamma spectroscopy reference info for free, ideal for those working with MCAs.

Not sure if I should just leave the link as above, or transfer the entire 26 meg file to the Fusor.net server.

Hi Dave,

I fixed the hyperlink so it goes through. The Heath volume is a classic and and indispensable utility even after all these years. The Web version from INL isn't complete (missing some actinide spectra, for what reason I don't know). Another point of access on the Web is at

http://www.radiochemistry.org/periodict ... /index.htm

This allows page-by-page retrieval, although it is the same abridged version from INL. The discussion in the first few pages is among the best practical introductions to the entire subject of scintillation spectrometry.

Carl,

Thanks for fixing the link.

At 539 pages, a few missing spectra are scarcely noticeable (unless, of course, they are the ones you are looking for!)

I guess I prefer to download and keep entire references on my own hardware. I've seen too many bookmarked reference web pages that disappear after a year or two.

The original link doesn't work anymore. I have found a backup of it through the Internet Archive:
