This book is a nudge better than Price's book on radiation detection, though not as comprehensive as Knoll's treatise. Where it excels is the immense amount of practical detail, with explicit evaluations of materials, scintillator formulas, circuitry (heavy on tube technology), and even handling of radioactive materials.
