Re: Luke Harrill's Trading Post
Good luck with your sale, Luke.
Re. your 1.7 comment:
It'd be shame to destroy a big 80 kV capacitor to get its fluted HV bushings.
Anybody know if such things are naturally vacuum-tight?

Re: Luke Harrill's Trading Post
Thank you, Rich!
Yes, the ceramic to metal seals on many of such capacitors are vacuum tight. Specifically the hermetically sealed, oil-filled ones with a steel case. My current feedthrough is made from a NOS one that was intended to go on a 60kv capacitor. I purchased it from Richard Hull a while back, and that information that was bestowed upon me. It has served me well thus far, and has already been pushed beyond the maximum rating.

Re: Luke Harrill's Trading Post
wound the 1.6 transformer be sutible for a demofusor?
no deuterium, just the plasma?
thinking of buying it.
let me know if you know the answer.

Re: Luke Harrill's Trading Post
Item # 1.6 would be fine for a demo fusor.
The more reactive the materials, the more spectacular the failures.
The testing isn't over until the prototype is destroyed.
