Image resizing/editing software

It is ALWAYS best to take the highest resolution image that your camera can take. You can always edit it down later. Suppose you get that once in a lifetime shot and you used crappy resolution to shoot it? You paid for a high resolution camera so use the resolution.

For editing, Photoshop is tough to beat but there are some small freeware programs out there that will resize in a keystroke or two and do not require a graphic arts degree to operate. One that I keep on hand for quick resizing is LviewPro. In its early freeware version, it was simple and fully funtional. Another advantage with this software is that you can run the program right from its folder. No install is neccesary so if you don't like it, you just delete the folder.

The lastest releases have locked functions that prevent you from doing much. Attached is a zipped version of the good freeware version. I would have just posted a link but all of the links send you to current locked versions of the software.
