DuMont 6292 PMT voltage divider

This area is for discussions involving any fusion related radiation metrology issues. Neutrons are the key signature of fusion, but other radiations are of interest to the amateur fusioneer as well.

Can you help me on DuMont 6292 PMT voltage divider
or scheme how to connect resistors.
I do not know the values of resistors.

Dumont's been out of business since forever............ I have a couple of these tubes from the $1.00 box at hamfests.

Use the "similar to" tube references in your supplied URL.... look them up and get their data sheets for dynode wiring. 100k-470k is a safe and often used dynode resistor value range. bypassing the last 3 stages resistors with .01-.001 caps is also a standard practice.

I found this scheme. But there is no capacitor between the cathode and anode, even at the last dynodes
Will this work?

Hi Arni,

sorry for the slight delay as I had to do a bit of digging for this!

The pdf has the DuMont scanned short form spec sheet from the era.
Note that is has 39 tubes including your 6292.
The K type were experimental and subject to change.

At the end I included a dynode chain for the 6364 that I have used. It works well. Note that your 6292 uses the same base, has the same number of stages, has the same max voltage and the same current gain. The photocathode diag and material are different but I would guess the PMT neck amplifying section electrical and mechanicals are identical, so this should work for you.

have fun.....

Edit: both attempt to post the pdf failed. i contacted the moderator about a possible size limit.
