X-ray detection recommendation

I'm looking into purchasing a geiger counter for monitoring X-ray emisssions. I found this web site that provided geiger counters with a serial port (to connect to a PC) and are sensitive to x-rays. I would like to know if you think these geigers are appropriate. Specifically I am looking at RM-80, since it has the largest tube, and highest sensitivity.

Thanks,

They look pretty good to me... specs are quite similar to the Monitor 4 instruments we buy But these are less expensive.

Aware has been around for a good amount of time now and their stuff is pretty good. I have two friends who use their stuff and they like it.

Their software is a real plus and can data log to a degree.

Aware makes good stuff. If I can too my own horn, take a look at http://www.blackcatsystems.com/GM as well.

Do these have a labview interface? What I'm looking for is a Geiger counter I can hook up to something like the lab jack U12 so I can integrate it into the whole labview virtual instrument panel. Having to run a separate program to do data logging is a pain...

Thanks

Their stuff does look great. It'll work. Just would have been nice to have the VI for it. Thanks.

I talked to the folks at Aware about LabView integration and they say it's fairly easy to integrate these systems. They seem like really great people and offered to help me in the process.

Nice to see.

It would be fairly easy to interface either my GM-10 or the devices from Aware into Labview, you'd just have to write a low-level VI to integrate the readings over a time period.
