Scintillator tests

This area is for discussions involving any fusion related radiation metrology issues. Neutrons are the key signature of fusion, but other radiations are of interest to the amateur fusioneer as well.

Thanks Tom! Richard Hester is looking for a schematic diagram for that preamp! If I ever made one, I lost it. (been a while).

That tube did not have a three transistor preamp. It had an RCA MC3486 or some such IC (transistor network) and one or two discrete transistors, if I remember correctly. If you have the schematic, get in touch with Richard.

The reason I am looking for the EMI/Thorn preamp schematic is that I am trying to grt a figure for PMT output current so that I can correlate the numbers taken using Richard Hull's setup with another setup. The SCA threshold and gain settings are known, as is the voltage output of the PMT/preamp combination. The only unknown factor is the currrent to voltage conversion factor for the PMT preamp.
