For those still wanting to tough it out with common stilbene based scintillators such as NE213 and its ilk, there is a great scientific paper online at the Ortec website which is downloadable. (Link is to be found in links forum).
This paper, "Neutron-Gamma Discrimination with Stilbene and Liquid Scintillators" Tells about how to time discriminate Gamma photo electrons from neutron-proton recoils. It is all explained in detail and even a schematic NIM lashup for doing same is shown. Enjoy the uphill battle.
