Neutron Scintillation Detector Probes on Ebay

On e-bay, I noticed that a scintillation probe that does respond to fast neutrons is available (assuming they are correct about the scintillation material - see my further comments before buying one.)

It will directly work with many Ludlum meters and should be adaptable to other systems (any units that allow voltage adjustment.)

The detector crystal, they claim, is BC-412 and that is the correct scintillator for neutrons - it will not sense x-rays below 100 KeV nor gamma's above 5 MeV. I have the data sheet for BC-412 so unless the seller is wrong about the scintillator material (possible) then this unit will work as a neutron detector probe. They do not post that it detects neutrons (only gamma's) so they are apparently not aware that BC-412 is suitable for this class of particles. I already have this material so I don't need the probe (so I haven't confirmed if the seller's claim of material is correct) so be aware that sellers do make mistakes - the seller does have a 30 day return policy BUT unless you have a neutron source, then one cannot confirm if the detector material really is BC-412 ... .
