Security Scanner X-Ray Supply

Post by Charles Vorbach »

Hi, all.

I just got a supply on Ebay I believe will work for a real Fusor. It is guaranteed working, and once its under oil it seems pretty plug and play.

However, I also just had a one dollar bid on security scanner type x-ray machine win. It is mine for $20 shipping.
So I was wondering to these things work in fusors? My search of previous posts said they might lack the power, but was inconclusive.

So I guess my question is this thing worth keeping? Thanks.

Would have to see the voltage + current outputs given to see if it were suitable for fusion.

For amateurs it seems like you generally want ~30 kV and 15 mA as a lower bound.
