PFEIFFER-BALZERS-TPU-170-to TCP300 Cable

Every fusor and fusion system seems to need a vacuum. This area is for detailed discussion of vacuum systems, materials, gauging, etc. related to fusor or fusion research.

PFEIFFER-BALZERS-TPU-170-to TCP300 Cable

Post by williamyjk »

I would like to build a cable for the PFEIFFER-BALZERS-TPU-170-to TCP300 controller.

Does anyone know the wiring connections between the pump and controller plugs?

If you have the cable, can you please provide a wiring diagram?

Also, are the part numbers for the mating connecting plugs to the pump and to the controller available?

Thank you,

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? I was bidding on one of these pumps on eBay and someone sniped the last second and beat me. Probably for the best since it had no cable or controller. Good luck!

I found the manual in the earlier post to be incomplete.

This is a complete version:

http://nuchem.iucf.indiana.edu/Instrume ... 00_310.pdf.

Also, this site provides instructions for connecting power to the controller and a picture of the mating power plug:

http://www.pchemlabs.com/product.asp?pid=3065

According to the manual, the controller will accept 110 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz. For basic operations, AC power is supplied to the X4 plug as follows:

Hot to "b1"
Neutral to "a2"
Ground to "a6"

Although a mating plug to X4 would be convenient, I think power can be applied by directly connecting (solder joints or individual female spade plugs) to the male terminals.
