Broken Welch 1400 Plate

Post by Ed Meserve »

Well, we did it good. We managed to break the plate on our Welch 1400.

So, To replace it, we are going to try a piece of machined aluminium. The tricky part will be to put it back together properly.
I found a suggestion to use rolling papers to adjust the clearances on the rotor, here:

EDIT*
We had previously purchased a rebuild kit for the shaft seals, that apparently came with the o-ring gaskets for the intake end plate/ intake ring. I only hope that we haven't misplaced them.

Thanks,
Ed
