High voltage, High temperature vacuum tight two part epoxy resin

Every fusor and fusion system seems to need a vacuum. This area is for detailed discussion of vacuum systems, materials, gauging, etc. related to fusor or fusion research.

High voltage, High temperature vacuum tight two part epoxy resin

Post by behrooz »

Looking for a High voltage, High cure temperature suitable for high vacuum two part epoxy resin. I need to repair a detector feedthrough leak. Feedthrough are fixed using a two part epoxy resin (light brown colour) which is cured at hight temperature (above 200 deg C). High voltage (above 10 KV) is applied to this feedthrough. inside detector should be evacuated to 1x10^-6 . A picture of the detector with feedthrough sealed using such epoxy is attached.
Any recommendation?

thx

Hysol 1C

I have used it in a HV feedthrough. The only issue is that it does not tolerate exposure to plasma.

I used some of the steel reinforced jb weld and it works perfectly doesn't outgass much and tolerales plasma fairly well.

I would recommend Hysol EA1C. It's an incredible epoxy that fits the bill for the properties you mentioned, and it relatively inexpensive.
