What fittings are these?

Every fusor and fusion system seems to need a vacuum. This area is for detailed discussion of vacuum systems, materials, gauging, etc. related to fusor or fusion research.

What fittings are these?

In my university we have loads of these old fittings shown in the image. The technicians refer to them as Edwards fittings, sometimes the name Saunders comes up, but I cannot find any information about them on the internet. I am interested to know if they are still manufactued, who supplies them, technical drawings, thread specifications, available nominal sizes, why did they apparently fall out of favor etc.
Thanks
Ivan
