Re: Paper on neutron counting using ZnS(Ag) phosphors
Hi John Glad to know about your experiment. I will give a try as soon as I get some ZnS:Ag film. My neutron source will be an old vial with Ra paint (from old watch shop) and a small Be window from a damaged X-ray tube, just placing the Be in front of the open vial. The efficiency will be low but I ...

Re: Paper on neutron counting using ZnS(Ag) phosphors
Jon,
It is an interesting paper but nothing is said about neutron fluxes.
The only neutron parameter reported is energy.
Do you think ZnS:Ag may be sensitive enough for the typical fusor production?

Underappreciated X-rays
Fellows
Found this article about undesired x-ray production in a lab during high voltage and vacuum experiments.
Is an interesting exercise about characterizing, measuring and controlling stray radiation.

Hi Dan
Do you remember the tale “The Emperor’new clothes”?
I was trying to understand what is doing Doug, and ashamed to not understand…
Glad not to be alone.

Hi Robert,
Please, comment about the RF power on your Ion Source Inductively Coupled as well as the Proton/Deuteron current.
Could you provide some diagram of your source? I am curious about the three extractors electrodes.
Thanks!

Hi Dan
Excellent design!
How far will you push it in terms of kV?

Nuclear Enterprises plastic scintillators
Hi I have been able to get three plastic scintillators for neutron detection, the models NE-400, NE-402 and NE-404. Being obsolete there is no much useful info on the web. Just learned that the 402 has 92% B10 and that the 404 is sensitive to fast neutrons. I would appreciate if some fellow has full...

Thanks Rex and Richard,
Yes, may be a cumbersome approach.

Hi Richard
I was recalling George Schmermund' experiments posted some years ago.
Nobody followed that line?
I understand it's not the easiest way but was curious.
