I am a bit confused about the image of your HV feedthrough.
The CF flange (a Varian one) seems to lack the sharp edge to seal against the copper washer.
Please comment.

Hi Richard, a useful technique to removing tungsten deposits is melting a bit of sodium nitrite over the surface to be cleaned. It melts at low temperature and reacts with the tungsten. Then you wash thoroughly the window with distilled water.

Agustin Why do you start your long pursuit trying to use a wrong road? Mechanical pump oil has several properties, not only oriented to get a good vacuum but also to protect the steel parts inside the pump. Were are you based? Surely some provider of consumables for vacuum systems, as mass spectrome...

Beside my earlier question, I have another one.
Einzel lens designs almost always have a gap of 0.1 D between lenses.
Why you gone further, enlarging the space between lenses? It is almost 0.5 D (being D the lens diameter)
