Re: Baratron Capacitative Manometer question.

<t>Steve;<br/> Thanks for your great response! The two articles referenced have been printed out and will be good reading tonight. I really appreciate your taking time to respond from your busy schedule for my part time research endeavors here.<br/> <br/> I used one of the 15 TORR Baratrons and have...

Re: p B11

<t>Rick;<br/> yours is a remarkable assembly of OPJ. I have discovered several sources of OPJ in my community and have gleened my own collection of same. My current efforts are to bring myself up to speed with technological tools to the level of achievement documented on this site and your achieveme...

Re: Baratron Capacitative Manometer question.

<t>Bob;<br/> Thanks for your reply! I have just aquired two used 15 Torr units and used one 10 Torr units so your information gives me somewhere to start to make sure they are functional. My fusor efforts right now are on a shoestring so I have been very fortunate to collect some good equipment at b...

Re: Baratron Capacitative Manometer question.

I hate talking to myself but I have answered my question. I hooked up variable 6VDC supply to my mystery Cap. Manometer readout (Datametrics 1400 now Datametrics/Dresser) and discovered what I needed to know. Thanks for stopping by to wonder. Larry Upjohn.

Baratron Capacitative Manometer question.

<t>Can anyone tell what voltage change represents (0-10 volts or 0-6 volts) on a "Baratron"? Does it go up for lower vacuum or is highest for the upper limit of vacuum sensed in the vacuum system? I am building a quick test jig for Baratrons and this question came to mind. Thanks for help and insigh...

Re: Common polycarbonate as a neutron detector.

John and all; Just looked online and Glaser won a Nobel Prize for his Bubble Chamber development. Looks like BIG Physics uses liquid hydrogen for the detector solution. Obviously high hydrogen containing liquids and gels with low boiling points may point to a substitute for LH here. Please find atta...

Re: Demo Fusor close to first light

Have refined the Demo Fusor to eliminate the Glass Globe. I replaced the silver soldered inner grid as well. I managed to deposit molecular silver over the interior of the globe internal components including the insulator of the Sparkplug. It cleaned right up with silver polish. Inner grid is all st...

Re: Caveate Emptor (Let the buyer beware)

<t>Dave;<br/> You're right of course but I am walking away from this one. I have a nearly completed my next edition demo fusor and this would be a major diversion and another major delay before I can even get my plasma back. I did send a complaint and stopped any and all payment before unauthorized ...

Re: What's so special about controller cables?

<t>Wow;<br/> You got a much better deal than I did at $60.00USD. I discovered the same problem with missing cables. I was able to get a partial manual in PDF format but it is missing the pages with schematics and pinouts for the TC and ION gauge detectors. I have been able to trace out the ION guage...
