Re: recovery.gov WB-8 polywell report Q1/2011 "working as designed"

"wild success" vs $?

As in $ spent to get a wild success, or how much they'll throw at one when they find it?

We may never know, but in a budget with rounding errors in the billions it sure aint chump change either way.

<t>Here's a much more effectively processed set of images.<br/> <br/> These are four minute exposures, dark frame subtracted, adjusted to the same values.<br/> <br/> The first is 1uCi Am241 behind a ZnS(Ag) screen. It actually produced enough light to make out the outline of the screen in complete d...

Re: Scintillation Detection via Digital Camera... experimental results indicate otherwise.

<t>Dan, <br/> <br/> I agree with you on all points, however this was specifically a test of the assertion that off the shelf consumer grade digital cameras could be used with literally any scintillation material to detect and measure radiation with no special tools, modification, software, or user t...

<t>I'm optimistic, but I'm not holding my breath.<br/> <br/> I would construe "Positive results" in this context to simply mean that there were actually results to analyze, and that the government is getting reports, as opposed to "Negative results" which means that no data is forthcoming.<br/> <br/...

Re: Scintillation Detection via Digital Camera... experimental results indicate otherwise.

<t>I added some images to my original post. The camera is plainly not up to the task.<br/> <br/> It is quite clear now, after two independent tests that the original post on this technique is nothing more than promotion for another YouTube hoax video. I don't know what he was thinking putting droppi...

I looked at that site for about 3 minutes, and noted a presumed decay chain involving 5 fusions, and 4 electron captures.

Ow, my head....

<t>I'm not expecting anything to make it to Texas, but I've got my monitoring system hooked up finally. We shall see what there is to see.<br/> <br/> Right now the monitor is just a stock Lionel CDV 700, (calibrated to a DU check source) connected to a computer for logging. A scintillation counter i...

Re: PMT Voltage Divider Calculator

<t>The first few stages see minuscule currents. I wouldn't expect extra capacitors to do much good there.<br/> <br/> However, having the correct voltage at the cathode and first couple of stages is critical if you want the lowest noise possible. One of the solutions is to use a zener to control the ...
