Re: Fusor wins big at local science fair

<t>Nice work, Adam. I just got tuned into it, I've been "AFK" for a couple of weeks. <br/> <br/> If you do indeed make it to Louisville next month, let me know, it's not a long drive from Nashville and I'd like to come up and see what you've got. Hope it's not the wknd of the 18th, I already have an...

Re: Mark II prime not Mark II (fake)

<t>Hector... nice to see you posting again.<br/> <br/> I aparently missed an earlier msg you refer to here. What "scientific paper" are you refering to? <br/> <br/> I'm sorta surprised to learn that there was any kind of "scientific paper" written about the "Two Prime," as Gene Meeks liked to call i...

Re: Mark II IEC

Richard, what do you mean,

"The firgures for the MK II in the Farnsworth book "Distant Vision" are ridiculously incorrect." ?

Can you be more specific? Which figures, which pages in Pem's book? On what do you base your conclusion about their accuracy?

Re: California power

<t>Richard Hull writes:<br/> <br/> "Fusion is not even thought of out there anymore. It's nuclear, ain't it?"<br/> <br/> I think fusion is "off the radar" for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that nobody has ever demonstrated it to be feasible, other than maybe God, and he needs ...

Re: Fusor Rocket

<t>Interesting article. BTW, I think you'll find that 25-words-or-less explanation of IEC that you were looking for a while back:<br/> <br/> The technique is called inertial electrostatic confinement (IEC), a technique that avoids the use of massive magnets and laser systems used in other fusion-pow...

Hirsch/Meeks Fusor Patent

Here is the 1968 patent on the device most of the members of this forum are working with, which I call the "Hirsch/Meeks Variation" of the Farnsworth Fusor.

Counterpoint to Utopia

<t>Attached here is an excerpt from Robin Herman's book "Fusion - The Search for Endless Energy." This section discusses some of the potential downsides to fusion, and provides and interesting counterpoint to the grand vision that Farnsworth (and others) expound for the future of fusion. Granted, mo...

The Fusion Powered Future

<t>That attached file is an excerpt from Pem Farnsworth's book "Distant Vision." During the mid 1960s, Philo T. Farnsworth overcame his reluctance to speak in public, and on a few occasions described his vision of the future that controlled fusion would produce. The vision is at times rather fantast...
