Re: Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Hello Thank you all so much for your suggestions, I can't say enough thanks in a life time. I just took a look and will purchase it soon. Since I'm from Canada, the price of shipping is $16 dollars... So as soon as I get that all worked out I should be able to purchase it. I also purchased an MKS 90...

Re: Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Hello all, Update: I managed to remove most of the crap. Thank you all for your recommendations. So I used all your guys advice. Here's what I did: 1. (This was before I even made the last post) I put a ton of WD-40 in the little place and let it sit there for a week. Most of it evaporated and becua...

Re: Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Hello guys! Just back from new years and a really boring day! Who else did nothing all break? So, I have finally cleaned up everything and got those extra parts I needed. These being the pumps oil, some flushing fluid and the OIL TANK gasket. The flushing fluid cost $12 per litre, oil was $16 per li...

Re: Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Hello, I meant to say that I will be able to obtain some oil an a new gauge by the new year based on shipping. The question now is when will they arrive? I have taken some pictures with my crappy phone so the quality is not so good. Just as some backing, I did read all the FAQ's relating to primary ...

Cleaning/Repairing Edwards E2M5

Hello, I just received an Edwards E2M5 vacuum pump in the mail for about $180. It looks good on the outside but is missing the inlet flange and exuaght cap (which doesn't matter). I plugged it in and it powers up perfectly fine. I don't have new oil or a vacuum gage to test its power. Even if I did ...

Re: Wendelstein 7-X has successfully finished its second major experimental run

I sincerely apologize about this. I thought it would be better off erasing it since I thought it wasn't accurate after reading the provided text briefly. I just didn't want any inaccurate information to spoil my post. I really am sorry. I also didn't know that we aren't allowed to edit our posts. I ...

Re: Wendelstein 7-X has successfully finished its second major experimental run

It's very nice to see the Wendelstein 7-X break records! When I first heard of it I thought it would be another one of those hoax machines but I must say, they're doing very well compared to other multi-billion dollar rearch facilities. Now, I would just like to ask a question. What do you think wou...

Re: Can I make my own ConFlat flanges?

Hello, I recall further back in this thread that John Futter mentioned that I can get some ConFlat flanges from China at cheaper than the material costs. IS this true? If so, can anybody reference where to get them? As well, would they be of any lesser quality than the average you can purchase from ...

Re: MKS 901p

Hello, I am very bad at anything that comes to computer programing so I apologize if I sound very inexperienced. I remember Andrew Seltzman posting code on this thread. He said that it is possible to use Matlab as a program to properly interpret the signals. I'm imagining that you use the analog out...
