Beginning vacuum work

I will use this post to document all issues with vacuum work on my fusor. I have a chamber but not all parts to seal off yet. Began testing the Welch 1400 today. I used the solid vinyl shelf liners from Walmart. Did not overlap. But do slant the seem. Just laid the two pieces end to end and used a sewing machine (from thrift store) to zig-zag stitch the seem. Worked really well.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? I was bidding on one of these pumps on eBay and someone sniped the last second and beat me. Probably for the best since it had no cable or controller. Good luck!
