My NST is leaking tar

I was presenting my demo fusor at my school and after about two hours of continuous running the glow dissipated and my metering system said that at max it would only produce 0.2 kv at 0.0 ma. I thought it my be overheated and shut it all down. Today I got it home and took a second look and found tha...

Re: Alcatel 2004A Clean and Tune Up

I have hit a roadblock on the project. The vacuum pump is hard to turn by hand, it will turn easily with a small wrench however. I believe that there is some form of dirt and rust buildup in the cylinders and I do not have the systems to properly reassemble the vacuum pump to that degree after finis...

Re: kf 40 valve

In the listing it says "24VDC" that suggest that is uses 24 volts, DC. So yes, this does use electricity to control it. A simple google search could have answered your question.

I know this topic has been dead for a long time but what ever happened? Does anyone have any pictures or videos of one of these?

Re: Alcatel 2004A Clean and Tune Up

I just finished and I honestly believe that this pump was submerged in a cesspool of sewage and put back together before it was sent to me. I can't possibly even comprehend a reason for a pump being this filthy.

Re: Alcatel 2004A Clean and Tune Up

I ran it for a sold three hours with a completely sealed up Vacumm --> KF25 to CF 2.75 --> CF 2.75 to 1/8 NPT --> DV-23 either the gauge was broken (highly doubt it as it came from Mike) or I only pulled marginally below atmosperic pressure. I will update this as soon as I finish cleaning it up and ...

Re: Update For Demo Fusor

I am thinking about finding a laser scanner and recreating three mating flanges, then welding standard sized CF flanges onto that in order to make my own adapter. I would also have to find or make three custom copper gaskets. However I do plan on using this chamber as my final fusor chamber. Another...

Alcatel 2004A Clean and Tune Up

I have flushed my pump twice with clean oil, yet it still produces a poor vacuum and the oil comes out very, very dirty. I have decided to take apart and clean my pump manually in order to get the maximum pull. I will be taking pictures in order to show the process and I will be posting it on here l...
