Re: March issue of the bell jar - HV supply article
Thanks for the link; this is an interesting article. My post is prompted by the section on microwave experiments. First, I think the author should have emphasized a bit more that operating a magnetron without shielding can be dangerous. I also wanted to point out that microwave plasma experiments ca...

Re: Beware of shipping costs!!
LDS says on their web page that they have free ground shipping for orders over $75. If they charged you for a $100 order, you should call them on it. They formerly offered free shipping to a university address, but changed it a while back to the same $75 minimum order. I’m not happy with their shipp...

Re: Magnetically assisted ionization
Hotta's group in Japan did considerable study of this subject in a cylindrical fusor and reported their results at the US-Japan IEC Workshop in College Park, MD, in 2012. Unfortunately, the web site where the presentations at that meeting were posted has since been taken down. They used mutiple coil...

A batch of the Universal Voltronics XRC-60-60N -60kV, 60mA power supplies appeared on the used market several years ago when Panalytical switched to using Spellmann supplies in their x-ray equipment and sold off their spares. Being negative polarity supplies with voltage and current suitable for fus...

Re: Deuterium lecture bottles on ebay
The last time I bought deuterium (about two years ago), Cambridge Isotope Laboratories had the best price. They currently list their lowest purity deuterium (98.8%) at $314 for 50 liters. They also offer a 25 liter size for $167. This does not include the shipping charge.
