Re: Only Bubbles will do! - Once again

<t>I don't totally agree. With proper instrumentation, using light Hydrogen as a control, I would consider results from BF3 and H3 detectors, along with MCA analysis of neutron activation as valid proof of neutron generation. It helps to correlate the electronic defectors with bubble detectors, as i...

Re: demo fusor operating pressure

<t>I agree with the idea that you will have a out gassing problem, but if you have a large enough vacuum pump this should not be a problem. As for implosion, I really don't know how thick your pipe is, but I'm guessing this isn't a problem, as the cylindral shap is very strong. As for melting, this ...

Re: Beating dead horse

I also approved of the discussion of historical and alternate ways of vacuum
generation. I fear that there is a tendency for some people to think "in the
box", and I belive that Farnsworth would not approve.

pulse operation using a Neon Sign Transformer

<t>This is basically a Marx generator and rather than use resistors, the <br/> magnetic shunt or current limiting of the NST is used. <br/> <br/> The capacitor is charged until the spark gap fires. At that time, a large <br/> amount of current attemps to pass through the diode, but is limited by the...

Re: need alil help

<t>The 8-9 kvdc that Richard Hull mentioned is the NO LOAD voltage. <br/> <br/> NST or Neon Sign Transformers are current limited, meaning that their <br/> voltage drops down as load is increased, giving them only a few hundred <br/> volts then connected to a fusor. You will see a nice plasma, but n...

Re: Fusor size limits

There are some considerable advantages to small. I envision a fusor system
build from a NW50 CROSS, where one port is the view, another port is the
Grid, another port for D2 and the last port for Vacuum. easy to pump down.
No chamber to make or buy.
