Re: PMT/Scint. divider topology differences

I see the difference as noise immunity. Separating the bias and signal allows high impedance lines to be short parasitics to be minimized.

Re: Bell and whistles diffusion pump based vacuum system.

Slow spin down can actually create more wear on turbos. As they pass through resonances the bearings see more stress and if they dwell in these conditions it can shorten life. Most high-quality turbos have a vent port and recommend use with an orifice. I vent using dry nitrogen and a 10sccm orifice ...

"Any complete system crafted by one's own hand, from scratch, as related to the fusion reaction vessel, that does fusion, will be accepted."

Re: Neutron Club / Recycled Fusor

The fusor for sale would be a major step backward for me ...

A question for the forum to ponder: would we award the neutron club to someone who bought a COTS neutron tube? I see this as similar.

All hail King Richard.

P.S. I wasn't the "Joe" that bought the system for sale.

Hello Patrick,

I downloaded your Multiplasma simulator and wondered if you could elaborate on the method you used to simulate particle motion. Did you use a PIC approach?

This question should be posted in the new user forum. Additionally, please respect the rules of the forum regarding your first post and user name.

As a side note, Fusor.net is a wonderful resource but showing you have put some effort into the answer always helps in getting a detailed response.

Fry's Closing Down

End of an era for electronic hobbyists in the western states ... Fry's Electronics is closing down permanently. https://www.frys.com/ I have equal memories of them being out of a component they said they had and having the component I needed to fix/save a project. I always thought Fry's was signific...

Re: A 50kV supply with 33mA drive ability

Finn, Is your supply current/voltage mode controlled, or is it an open loop? If you are using feedback, how did you design the resistor divider for the voltage feedback? I find that this is the most critical part when designing a closed-loop high voltage supply. It has to be the right balance of DC ...
